Words with Friends make the leap to the wrist with Apple Watch app

The trickle of playable games hitting the Apple Watch continues with the release of a Words with Friends app today.

The wrist app is designed to "give players a lightweight and fun way to stay on top of their game and plan their next move," according to Zynga's blog.

The app will let players track their live games, view their game boards to strategize their next move and chat with in-game opponents. Glances on the Apple Watch will let players see how many moves they have left, view notifications and pending chats and access the game's Word of the Day.

Unfortunately, it sounds like this particular app, like many other Apple Watch "games," is really just a viewer of the proper game.
