Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 prequel comic series coming in November

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 prequel comic book series will be published in November by Dark Horse.

The story — written by Larry Hama (G.I Joe) with art from Marcelo Ferreira (Transformers, TMNT) — follows "an elite group of soldiers as they wage a secret war across a futuristic war-torn world transformed by technology," according to Dark Horse.

The story begins in Tashkent, Uzbekistan during an operation to track down a double agent. Free mini-comics will be distributed at Comic-Con next week, via both the Dark Horse and Activision booths.

Activision will publish its future-setting Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on Nov. 6. You can catch up with Comic-Con next week via Polygon's in-depth coverage.
