Ubisoft unveiled a new short film based on Assassin's Creed Syndicate at San Diego Comic-Con today. It's a four-minute animated feature directed by F. Gary Gray (Friday, Straight Outta Compton) and illustrated by artist Pop Mhan.

Gray's "The Syndicate" focuses on the Industrial Revolution and London setting of Assassin's Creed Syndicate, and background of the game's protagonists Jacob and Evie Frye.

At Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed panel, Gray said that he was interested in directing the animated short based on his love of history. Gray said that he's interested in developing something more feature-length based on Assassin's Creed and collaborating with Mhan in the future.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate is coming to PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One on Oct. 23.
