Nintendo's upcoming amiibo figure for Palutena, a character from the Kid Icarus franchise, will be sold exclusively at Amazon starting July 24, the retailer announced today.
Amazon will not be taking pre-orders for the figure, said an Amazon representative on Reddit. Instead, orders will simply go live on that date; Amazon will announce the specific time two days early, on July 22. Interested parties can sign up for an email notification on the Amazon listing for the Palutena amiibo.
The Amazon rep noted that in order to "avoid resellers as much as possible," Amazon will be limiting orders of the Palutena amiibo to one figure per customer. The spokesperson also said it should be easier for customers to secure one of the Palutena toys because Amazon has more in stock.
"We have a lot more stock than we've had of any other amiibo yet," said the Amazon rep. "I know we'll end up selling out, but I think it'll be closer to the Splatoon 3-pack or Charizard or something rather than Lucina/Robin in terms of how long they're available (~15 mins after available). If you show up on time, you should be able to get one."
Earlier this year, Nintendo apologized for how quickly amiibo were selling out, and said it was working on ameliorating shortages by manufacturing and shipping more figures.
