Pokkén Tournament, Bandai Namco's arcade fighting game based on the Pokémon franchise, had its official release in Japan today. The game's roster will continue to grow after its debut with the addition of a new fighter, Blaziken, in an update to the game next month, Bandai Namco confirmed.

Blaziken was revealed in a Niconico livestream and in the pages of Famitsu this week, though the Pokémon was originally teased as a fighter in the game back in 2013. The character first appeared in a teaser at a Pokémon Game Show event, well before Pokkén Tournament was officially announced.

You can see Blaziken in action in the video above, which, though official, is of very low quality.

Pokkén Tournament's current roster consists of Charizard, Gardevoir, Gengar, Lucario, Machamp, Pikachu, Suicune and Weavile. The fighting game is currently only confirmed for an arcade release in Japan.
