It only took three years and £100,000 to create his own Ecto-1 Ghostbusters car

Paul Harborne sure likes Ghostbusters.

In 2010, he bought a 1960 Cadillac and spent the next three years and an estimated £100,000 to turn it into a replica of Ecto-1, the Ghostbusters' iconic car.

"Every time we go out in this car, it's crazy," Harborne said. "Everybody who sees it recognizes it immediately for what it is. Everyone wants pictures, photos. They're all stopping to chat about it. It is tough to go up the road without being spotted, even if you just want to go for some petrol, people follow you, people will want to ask questions — which is all very good. It is a very recognizable car."

Ghostbusters will return to theaters next year with a new, all-female cast that includes Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy. Another movie with a more traditional male cast will follow.

Paul Feig, who's directing the first of the two movies, showed off the new Ecto-1 last week. You can also see the cast hanging out in front of their new ride.
