Watch a week-long Mario game marathon played for charity

For the next week straight, TSG.tv (a.k.a. The Speed Gamers) will be continuing its tradition of streaming Mario games live Twitch non-stop for charity. You can watch the event for yourself in the Twitch window above.

Running 168 hours in total, this year's TSG.tv Mario Marathon is seeking to raise $50,000 to donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The schedule for the event includes a full range of main line Mario games like Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Galaxy, as well as spin-offs Luigi's Mansion and Mario Party 10.

In addition to playing games, the streamers involved are offering bizarre, hilarious rewards for reaching certain goals. For example, when they hit the $10,000 mark, two of the hosts are going to eat a marmite and ghost pepper sandwich. That's some commitment to charity!

TSG.tv has been running similar events since 2008, raising over $500,000 for a variety of charities in that time. As of the time of this post, less than two hours into this year's event, they've already raised nearly $9,200.
