Tembo the Badass Elephant is a weird game. Goofy name aside, it's a 2D platformer published by Sega — you know, the Sonic the Hedgehog people — and developed by Game Freak, the same folks who bring us the Pokemon games. It's a strange pairing, but perhaps more surprisingly, it's a strange pairing that totally works.
This headline may seem like trolling, but we're not joking when we say that Tembo the Badass Elephant really feels like a Sonic game. The controls are guided by a sense of momentum, and there's a vaguely spunky but generally child-friendly attitude pervading the game and its colorful art style.
