Fallout Shelter publisher Bethesda Softworks is planning to release the game on Android in August, said Bethesda's Pete Hines on Twitter yesterday.

Asked about the Android version, Hines said it is "coming along [nicely]" and "should be out next month." Hines is the vice president of marketing and public relations at Bethesda.

Bethesda announced Fallout Shelter during its E3 press briefing June 14, and released the game on iOS later that night. Within a week, the company said Fallout Shelter was the App Store's most downloaded game in 48 countries and the most downloaded app of any kind in 25 countries. At the time, people were playing it 70 million times a day.

Fallout Shelter developer Bethesda Game Studios added the first Fallout 4 character, Preston Garvey, to the game earlier this week.
