Odin Sphere HD remaster coming to PS4, PS3 and Vita in 2016

Vanillaware's side-scrolling, fantasy action-role-playing game Odin Sphere is coming back next year in remastered form, publisher Atlus announced today. Odin Sphere: Leifþrasir, a high-definition re-release, is bound for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in January.

Odin Sphere: Leifþrasir will run at higher resolutions than the PlayStation 2 original was capable of, and Vanillaware is also making some gameplay changes. The remastered Odin Sphere will include new enemies, new maps and tweaks to the game's alchemy and fighting systems. It sounds like Vanillaware is taking steps to make the game less repetitive as well.

The original Odin Sphere was released for PS2 in 2007. The title was released as a PS2 Classic for PS3 in 2011.

Atlus plans to release Odin Sphere: Leifþrasir on Jan. 14, 2016 in Japan. You can watch the game's debut trailer above.
