"Dark Room," the fourth episode of the teenage-girl adventure game Life is Strange, will be released July 28, publisher Square Enix announced today.

The episode will be available for $4.99 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Those who own Life is Strange's five-episode season pass, which costs $19.99, will be able to download "Dark Room" at no additional charge. People also have the option of buying the season's first episode for $4.99 and then picking up the other four in a $16.99 bundle.

The launch trailer for "Dark Room," which you can watch above, is edited like a trailer for a horror movie, suggesting that this episode will take Life is Strange in a darker direction. Here's the synopsis from Square Enix:

Max realizes that changing the past can lead to painful consequences and that time is not a great healer. Her investigation into the disappearance of Rachel Amber begins to reach a thrilling conclusion as she finds the Dark Room. Will the answers lie within? Or will there just be trouble?Square Enix also said today that sales of Life is Strange have reached 1 million copies. It's unclear if that figure includes sales of individual episodes, or just consists of season pass purchases. A Square Enix representative told Polygon that the company does not provide specific sales breakdowns, but said that "the attach rate to 'complete season' and 'season pass' is extremely strong" and that Life is Strange has over 1.2 million unique players.
