Popcorn classic Jurassic World overtook The Avengers as the third highest-grossing movie at the global box office, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film hit $1.522 billion this week, topping The Avengers' $1.520 billion; domestically, Jurassic World has pulled $614.3 million. It's not the first time Jurassic World has beaten out The Avengers, either. Following a massive opening weekend, the movie passed Marvel's film on the largest per-theater average for a wide release.
Jurassic World's global number still puts it well below the two highest-grossing films — Titanic at $2.186 billion and Avatar, which sits at $2.788 billion.
