Destiny: The Taken King pre-orders include new exclusive weapons and more

Destiny players who pre-order the game's upcoming third expansion, Destiny: The Taken King, will receive the Suros Arsenal Pack, an exclusive group of in-game items, Bungie confirmed today.

Bungie's announcement follows a leak last night that suggested the Suros Arsenal Pack would be tied to GameStop pre-orders of The Taken King. That is not the case. All pre-orders of The Taken King — the $40 standard version, as well as the $60 Legendary Edition and the $80 Collector's Edition, both physical and digital — will include access to the Suros Arsenal Pack starting Sept. 15, the day The Taken King launches.

The offer "is not exclusive to any retailer or platform," according to Bungie, and is available worldwide. Anybody who has already pre-ordered The Taken King will get the content.

Destiny's Suros Arsenal Pack is a group of five items from Suros, one of the weapon foundries being introduced in The Taken King. The bundle includes three weapons — the WSC-17 scout rifle, which you can see in the screenshot above, plus the PRR-11 auto rifle and BNS-13 pulse rifle — as well as a Suros-themed emblem and shader. Pre-orders of The Taken King will also receive the Vanguard Weapons Pack, which includes a Vanguard-themed auto rifle, pulse rifle and sidearm.

Both the Suros Arsenal Pack and Vanguard Arsenal Pack will be exclusive to The Taken King pre-order customers for three and a half months. Everybody will be able to earn them through gameplay starting Jan. 1, 2016. You can see a leaked image of the Suros Arsenal Pack below.
