Disney Infinity poll asks fans who they want added to the game (update)

Disney Infinity publisher Disney Interactive is taking suggestions from fans for a future character for the toys-to-life franchise, the company announced yesterday.

In addition to Star Wars, Disney Infinity 3.0 is bringing fan-chosen characters including Mulan (Mulan) and Olaf (Frozen) to the series. Now, says Disney, "The identity of a new Disney Infinity character is in your hands."

Interested parties can tell Disney of their choice in three different ways. The blog post contains a poll in which people can vote for Darkwing Duck or, if they really want, 19 other Disney characters who are not Darkwing Duck. Disney is also taking votes on TwitterFacebook and Instagram with the hashtag #OurDisneyInfinity. People can suggest characters not listed among the 20 in the poll by commenting on the blog post.

For more on Disney Infinity 3.0, which arrives Aug. 30 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, read our report on its toy figures and watch the trailer below.

Update: Asked about when this fan-voted character might arrive, a Disney Interactive representative told Polygon, "We haven't specified or determined exactly when the character will be available. We do this poll every year to gauge fan interest which we take highly into consideration when laying out our future character roster."
