Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited will allow players to enlist in the murderous Dark Brotherhood and larcenous Thieves Guild with two different expansion packs for the MMORPG in the first half of 2016. It's part of ZeniMax Online Studios' plan for expanding the subscription-optional title, which was recently ported over to Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
ZeniMax is going to release an expansion for the game quarterly, director Matt Firor explained during a QuakeCon 2015 panel, starting with the upcoming Imperial City DLC, which will introduce Oblivion's central city to Elder Scrolls Online. The next in order will add the Orcish city Orsinium to the title during the fourth quarter of 2015, though Firor shared few details about that expansion.
The first two quarters of 2016 will introduce the Thieves Guild and The Dark Brotherhood, two factions that have been notably missing from the online game since launch, across two different expansions. No details about the content of those expansions were shared, but Firor promised more details would come in early 2016.
In addition to the expansions, Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited will continue to be updated with "quality of life improvements," Firor said. Those include controller support for the game's PC version, subtitles and a revamped Group Finder, which will let players team up to tackle the game's most difficult dungeons regardless of their faction, which should significantly shorten queue times.
