Odin Sphere HD remaster coming to North America in 2016

The high-definition remaster of PlayStation 2 game Odin Sphere is coming to North America, publisher Atlus confirmed today. Odin Sphere Leifthrasir will be released both digitally and physically for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita sometime in 2016, Atlus said.

Odin Sphere Leifthrasir — announced as Odin Sphere Leifþrasir in Japan earlier this week — will feature "expanded worlds with new monsters, fully voiced story scenes and a fine-tuned refreshing combat and RPG system to perfect the gameplay," Atlus said in a release.

The publisher also, thankfully, provided a pronunciation of the word that's been added to the game's title: "LAYV-thra-sheer."

The original Odin Sphere, developed by Vanillaware, was released for PS2 in 2007. The title was released as a PS2 Classic for PS3 in 2011.
