Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will launch for Windows PC via Steam on Aug. 18, Square Enix announced today.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is the current-generation remake of the PSP title released only in Japan in 2011. The game, a more mature take on the fantasy series, follows a group of students caught up in a war.

In addition to an improved battle camera, the PC version will also feature Steam achievements, trading cards, controller support, character speed boosts and more. Those who pre-order the game on Steam will get 10 percent discount, in addition to a special Type-0 HD loading screen, the Master Chocobo as a courier and the Class Zero Moogle as a ward in Dota 2.

"Developing Final Fantasy Type-0 HD for Steam gave us the opportunity to fully realize our original vision of the game in an enhanced and refined experience exclusively for PC players," director Hajime Tabata said in a prepared statement.

Square Enix announced in June that the game would come to Steam. For more on Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, read our review.
