Warner Bros. has enlisted Gil Kenan to direct its film adaptation of the Five Nights at Freddy's series of horror games, reports Deadline.
Kenan's resume includes two spooky projects: the 2006 CG-animated film Monster House, which was nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Feature, and the Poltergeist remake that hit theaters earlier this year.
Deadline reports that Kenan is also writing the screenplay for the Five Nights at Freddy's film. Kenan is co-writing the movie with Tyler Burton Smith, according to Deadline. Smith has written for video games such as Sleeping Dogs and the upcoming Quantum Break.
Warner Bros. announced in April that it was working on a Five Nights at Freddy's movie. It is set to be a live-action adaptation of the popular franchise by indie developer Scott Cawthon, a series that is four games deep as of last week.
