Angry Birds 2 downloaded 1M times in 12 hours, people spent 1M years playing the series

Angry Birds 2 slingshotted its way onto mobile phones yesterday and 12 hours later it had already been downloaded a million times, according to developer Rovio.

The folks at Rovio, needless to say, were beyond happy with the numbers.

The first Angry Birds hit on Dec. 11, 2009. Since then, there have been more than a dozen spin-offs and sort of sequels and one compilation. The game has also spawned toys, food, magazines, theme parks, a dress, sports, ads, an upcoming movie, and one work of theology by Giridhari Dasa.

According to Apple, people have spent one million years playing Angry Birds. Then what's another hour or two, right?
