Meet Overwatch's newest hero, Soldier: 76

Blizzard Entertainment revealed a new hero for its team-based shooter Overwatch today, the masked vigilante called Soldier: 76. The new character, the alter-ego of former Overwatch team leader Jack Morrison, joins the 14 previously announced heroes in Blizzard's shooter.

Soldier: 76 looks like a pretty straight shooter, but like other Overwatch heroes, he has a suite of special talents. His pulse rifle doubles as a limited-use grenade launcher, and Soldier: 76 can heal himself while also highlighting enemies on the battlefield with the use of a ability-driven visor.

Over the past months, Blizzard has released a series of gameplay videos highlighting Overwatch's team of heroes, including Zarya, Bastion, Pharah, Reinhardt, Tjorbörn, Reaper, Hanzo, Tracer, Zenyatta, McCree and Mercy.

Overwatch is coming to Mac and Windows PC, with a beta planned for later this year.
