Superhot just released a beta to backers of its Kickstarter, and the developers of the unusual first-person shooter announced the milestone with a new video showing another 2:30 of mesmerizing, highly watchable gameplay.
In Superhot, time moves only when you do, giving you the opportunity to plan your next move, sidestep bullets, or bash an enemy, grab his weapon from midair and use it on a foe coming through the door. In real time you'd be pulling off something that looks like Jason Bourne meets The Flash, but in Superhot's environment it makes the combat into a puzzle game.
Polygon previewed Superhot at E3 2015, and also livestreamed about 45 minutes of play from an earlier build. This video is a little more polished, both in terms of the game and those playing it. Superhot will launch for Windows PC, Xbox One, Mac and Linux sometime in the last quarter of this year. It's being made by Superhot Team, a group of developers from Poland. Polygon profiled their parent company a year ago.
