At the D23 Expo today, Lucasfilm revealed a first look at the cast of Star Wars: Rogue One that included some pretty significant additions to the cast.
It's been known for some time that Rogue One — the story of the Rebel Alliance fighters who stole the plans for the Death Star; i.e., the plans that revealed a vulnerable two-meter-wide blast port — would star Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna and Riz Ahmed.
The new announcement revealed the involvement of Chinese cinema stars Donnie Yen and Jiang Wen, and nerd television stars Alan Tudyk (Firefly) and Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal). It also included this shot of some of that cast. According to press release, Alan Tudyk will play "a performance-capture character."
The first image of the film's title card also reveals what may be an updated full title for the film, and the subtitle of all of Lucasfilm's planned "anthology" films. So far those films include Rogue One, an untitled young Han Solo film, and a third, unrevealed movie, rumored to be about the life of Boba Fett.
