Sony will release a Darth Vader-inspired PlayStation 4 console and DualShock 4 controller this year alongside the releases of Star Wars Battlefront and Disney Infinity 3.0. PlayStation's Adam Boyes unveiled the new console and controller onstage at Disney's D23 Expo today, detailing how the PS4 will be bundled with upcoming Star Wars games.
The Darth Vader PS4 and DualShock 4 will be bundled with Star Wars Battlefront and Disney Infinity 3.0. While the new Disney Infinity release — which adds Star Wars worlds and characters to the toys-to-life game — will hit Aug. 28, the bundle with the Vader PS4 won't hit until Nov. 17. That's the same day the new Battlefront comes to consoles and PC.
The Star Wars Battlefront Vader PS4 bundle will include the deluxe edition of EA's Star Wars game as well as a voucher for four downloadable Star Wars games: Super Star Wars, Star Wars: Racer Revenge, Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter and Star Wars Bounty Hunter. Boyes said those games will come to PS4 will enhancements like PlayStation Trophy support and improved graphics.
The Vader PS4 bundle featuring Disney Infinity 3.0 will be exclusive to Wal-Mart, according to an announcement on the PlayStation Blog. It will include Disney Infinity 3.0: Star Wars Edition PlayStation Exclusive Hardware Bundle Kit, which includes the game, base station and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Princess Leia and Boba Fett figures. It will also include a voucher for the four digital games listed above.
