Disney Infinity 3.0 is getting a little bit of Kingdom Hearts as its 'ultimate unlock'

Disney Interactive had plenty of news to share about the company's upcoming toys-to-life game Disney Infinity 3.0 at the D23 Expo this weekend, including a tidbit that might lure in the Kingdom Hearts fanatic. Disney Infinity 3.0's "ultimate unlock," the item that unlocks if a player owns every single figure for the game, will be Sora's keyblade.

Previous ultimate unlocks include Luke Skywalker's lightsaber for the original Disney Infinity and his landspeeder for Disney Infinity 2.0.

Disney had a special treat for Infinity fans at D23; the company gave away a special power disc that was exclusive to the show which unlocked a King Mickey costume from Kingdom Hearts.

The company had a slew of new character announcements to make for Disney Infinity 3.0, including Rey and Finn from Star Wars: The Force Awakens; Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps from Walt Disney Animation Studios' Zootopia, Spot from Disney•Pixar's The Good Dinosaur; and Peter Pan, who was selected as part of the "Toy Box Artists Choice," an event held during this year's Disney Infinity Toy Box Summit. Peter Pan will be available next year.

Disney also announced a new line of Star Wars figures for Disney Infinity aimed specifically at collectors. Those Light FX figures will feature lightsabers that light up when placed on Disney Infinity's base accessory.

Disney Infinity 3.0 will be released Aug. 30. Disney and Sony Computer Entertainment also announced a special, Darth Vader-inspired PlayStation 4 bundle that will include the new Disney Infinity game. That bundle will be available this November.
