Fear the Walking Dead's gruesome opening scene, watch it now

Fear the Walking Dead kicks off with a little zombie action, in case you were worrying that the Sunday night premiere for the Walking Dead companion series set in L.A. was going to be all about lattes, the Hollywood Hills and swank shopping.

The official Facebook page for the upcoming AMC series posted what appears to be more than three minutes from the opening scene from the show, which airs Aug. 23 at 9 p.m. ET.

Creator Robert Kirkman has said that Fear the Walking Dead will show the beginning of the zombie outbreak and how people come to grips with what's happening. The Walking Dead will return to cable on Oct. 11.
