Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water will be a "free-to-start" game for the Wii U when it launches Oct. 22, Nintendo announced today. Gamers will be able to play its prologue and first two chapters for free.
Fatal Frame's full price will be $49.99; those who want to buy the game may do so after downloading it from the Nintendo eShop.
The news was part of a flurry of launch date announcements Nintendo formalized earlier this morning, including Devil's Third on Dec. 11 and Star Fox Zero on Nov. 20.
Additionally, a bundle comprising New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U will go on sale Oct. 16 for $59.99. That's the same day as the launch for Yoshi's Woolly World, which will be bundled with a green Yarn Yoshi amiibo at $59.99 ($49.99 without it). Other color Yarn Yoshi amiibo will be available on the same date for $16.99 each.
Nintendo also reasserted that Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival still will launch in 2015. For more on Nintendo's launch schedule closing out this year, see this news release.
