Bit.Trip tunes coming to colorful limited-edition vinyl, plus every game and soundtrack

Samit Sarkar (he/him) is Polygon’s deputy managing editor. He has more than 15 years of experience covering video games, movies, television, and technology.

The delightful chiptune music from Choice Provisions' (née Gaijin Games) Bit.Trip series is getting the deluxe vinyl treatment from Iam8bit, with a limited-edition LP featuring 11 tracks from the seven Bit.Trip games, the companies announced today.

Bit.Trip's Greatest Chips is pressed on a clear vinyl record featuring a bullseye pattern, on both sides, in the colors of series protagonist Commander Video's rainbow trail. The disc, which was designed by Drew Wise, comes in a white jacket with "fancy embossments and spot gloss," according to Iam8bit. You can see images of the front and back of the disc and sleeve below.

The special package includes download codes for the soundtracks to all seven Bit.Trip titles, as well as Steam keys (Mac and Windows PC) for the games themselves: Bit.Trip Beat (2009), Bit.Trip Core (2009), Bit.Trip Void (2009), Bit.Trip Runner (2010), Bit.Trip Fate (2010), Bit.Trip Flux (2011) and Bit.Trip Presents Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien (2013).

Pre-orders for Bit.Trip's Greatest Chips will open at Iam8bit on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 10 a.m. PT.
