Galak-Z: The Dimensional, the brutal space shooter from 17-Bit, will launch a separate edition for mobile devices in 2016, the studio and publisher GungHo Online Entertainment America said today.
The game will be called Galak-Z: Variant Mobile. The original Galak-Z launched earlier this month for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC and has been well received by critics.
Galak-Z: Variant Mobile will be optimized for mobile platforms with new touch-screen controls, a different user interface, and other revisions. The 2D shooter is an homage to 1980s arcade games and anime of that era.
"Galak-Z: Variant Mobile will have all the explosive high-level combat and skill-based action as the original, but tailored and optimized for the mobile player on the go," Jake Kazdal, the CEO of 17-Bit, said in a statement.
