Nintendo is bringing out numerous amiibo over the next few months, starting with nine different figures during September, the company announced today.
The following six amiibo will be released Sept. 11 in North America: Bowser Jr. (complete with Koopa Clown Car), Dr. Mario, Gandondorf, Olimar, Zero Suit Samus and a special Mario figure for Super Mario Bros.' 30th anniversary. The 8-bit Mario will be compatible with Super Mario Maker, which is also launching Sept. 11, while the other five figures work with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS.
Nintendo will release the Retro 3 Pack, which comes with Duck Hunt, R.O.B. and Mr. Game & Watch, on Sept. 25. All three are for Super Smash Bros., and will be available only in the bundle; Nintendo won't be selling the figures individually.
The three amiibo based on Mii Fighters, which Nintendo announced during E3 for a September release, will now be available in November in a three-pack of their own. A second Mario amiibo for the 30th anniversary of Super Mario Bros., the "Modern Color" figure, is still on the way; Nintendo said it will provide further details in the future.
Nintendo provided no information today about the Falco amiibo, which the company unveiled during E3; at the time, Nintendo said Falco would be available along with Duck Hunt, R.O.B. and Mr. Game & Watch in September. Falco is now listed on Nintendo's website for a "Holiday 2015" release. We've reached out to Nintendo for comment, and will update this article with any information we receive.
