Best Buy is offering a nice deal next week for people looking to pick up an Xbox One and snag a new TV at the same time: Customers who buy a particular Xbox One bundle and a specific 40-inch Samsung smart TV will get both for $499.98.
The deal applies to two different Xbox One packages, each of which costs $349.99: the black 500 GB console that's bundled with Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and the black 500 GB unit that comes with Assassin's Creed Unity and Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag.
The television in question is a 40-inch 1080p LED TV from Samsung (model UN40J5200AFXZA) that regularly costs $429.99. That means that customers who take advantage of this deal will be saving $280.
Best Buy is promoting the offer as a back-to-school special for college students, saying that a 40-inch TV is "a great size for a dorm room," but we're not sure that's true — unless dorm rooms have gotten much bigger since we went to college. Either way, the deal will run from Sunday, Aug. 9, through Saturday, Aug. 15.
