Disney Infinity 3.0 hits Apple TV later this year with its own starter pack and controller

For the third year in a row, the latest version of Disney Infinity is coming to Apple devices, but this time around that will include a special starter pack designed specifically for the recently announced Apple TV.

The Disney Infinity 3.0 starter pack will include the Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano figures, the  Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic playset, a wireless Disney Infinity 3.0 bluetooth base and an MFi (made for iPhone/iPad/iPod) controller designed specifically for the game and Apple TV.

Disney representatives declined to say who is making the controller, but said more details are expected soon.

Previous versions of the iOS game have allowed players to share and play their Toy Box creations between devices. No word yet on what sort of cross-platform compatibility will be included with the Apple TV game.

The new Apple TV, unveiled yesterday, will go on sale in late October. The 32 GB model will sell for $149 and the 64 GB version will sell for $199.
