Plague of Shadows, a free expansion for side-scrolling platformer Shovel Knight, will launch on Sept. 17, Yacht Club Games announced on its site.
Shovel Knight’s Plague of Shadows expansion coming next week
Plague of Shadows adds a new quest and playable character in the form of Plague Knight, a “villainous master of alchemy.” Although the content is free, players will need to have cleared the game as Shovel Knight to access it. If you’ve switched to a different platform or lost your save progress, however, the dev will “share a special code” to unlock Plague Knight immediately.
The expansion will be available for Linux, Mac, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 3, PS4, PS Vita, Wii U, Windows PC and Xbox One. Check out the trailer above to see Plague of Shadows in action, or watch us play at PAX Prime 2015 below. For more on Shovel Knight, check out our review.
