Destiny trailers and commercials with a Led Zeppelin soundtrack are, by now, a thing, and the latest one — an ad for the game's upcoming expansion, The Taken King — doesn't disappoint on that front.
The 60-second TV spot features "Black Dog," just like The Taken King's launch gameplay trailer did last week. Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Oblivion, Tron: Legacy), the commercial stars a cocky Titan who heads to Destiny's newest destination — the Dreadnought, a massive spaceship floating in Saturn's rings — and doesn't feel threatened by the thought of the vessel's commander, the Hive god Oryx.
The Titan is eventually joined by his fellow guardians, a Warlock and Hunter; all three are playing as the new subclasses debuting in Destiny with The Taken King: Sunbreaker, Stormcaller and Nightstalker, respectively. Then, Oryx crashes the party.
Destiny publisher Activision and developer Bungie produced the commercial, known as "Evil's Most Wanted," in conjunction with 72andSunny, Digital Domain and Reset. The ad will air in full on NBC tonight, sometime during the Steelers-Patriots game that kicks off the 2015 NFL season starting at 8:30 p.m. ET.
The Taken King launches Sept. 15. For more, check out our everything-you-need-to-know StoryStream.
