X-Men: Apocalypse's titular villain may have lightened up, literally, if an off-screen photo recently posted on a Tumblr fan site is any indication.

The image has since been removed from Tumblr but, as seen above, is now making the rounds on Twitter. It shows a more familiar version of the classic character than the first official shots released earlier this summer. The Apocalypse that X-Men fans recognize typically sports a helmet-less look and skin a grayer shade of blue than the version from the film seen in the first reveal.
Upon first glimpse of Apocalypse, we were less than thrilled, and expressed our hope that "maybe by the time X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters, Oscar Isaac [who plays the character] will look less like [Power Rangers'] Ivan Ooze and more like an intimidating foe of the X-Men."
X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters May 27, 2016.
