Capcom introduces an all-new fighter to the Street Fighter roster with Rashid, who debuts in Street Fighter 5. The designers have definitely gone for a whirling-dervish look with him.
Meet Street Fighter 5’s all-new fighter: Rashid

Yoshinori Ono, the series’ producer, revealed Rashid on Friday at the Games 15 event in Dubai. Rashid’s “fighting style takes cues for parkour, and he mixes it up with his unique ability to harness the power of wind,” says a news release from Capcom.
Rashid (pronounced ra-SHEED) also is something of a tech and gadget junkie, say his creators. The Street Fighter wiki notes he will be the second fighter of Arabic descent to feature in the series; the first was Pullum Purna, all the way back in 1996’s Street Fighter EX.
Rashid is the 11th confirmed fighter in the Street Fighter 5 lineup, joining Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Cammy, Vega, M. Bison, Birdie, Charlie Nash, Necalli and R. Mika. Mika was the most recently announced fighter, returning to the series after a lone appearance in Street Fighter Alpha 3.
Street Fighter 5 is due for a 2016 launch on PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. Want more of Rashid? Check out these high-resolution screens Capcom provided. The images expand if you click the icon in the upper right of the frame.
