Metal Gear Solid 5's 'Quiet bug' is fixed on PS4 and PC

The "Quiet Bug" in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain has been fixed for the PlayStation 4 and Windows PC editions of the game, with other platforms following soon, Konami announced this morning.

The glitch takes its name from the fact that if a player brings along the sniper NPC Quiet as a companion on two certain missions, the save file will become corrupt and unusable.

Konami has since highlighted a workaround to allow Quiet's participation without destroying the file; players on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions will have to continue to use that until the fix is made for those editions.

Polygon scored Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain a 9.0, calling it "one of the best entries in the series."
