Team Ninja's long lost PS3 game Ni-Oh coming to PS4 in 2016

Ni-Oh, the game from Koei Tecmo that was originally announced as a PlayStation 3 title, is coming to PlayStation 4 next year, the company announced at Sony's pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference today.

Based on an unfinished script from acclaimed Japanese film director Akira Kurosawa, Ni-Oh follows a blond-haired, half-Japanese samurai who battles demons and uses magic.

In its original incarnation, Ni-Oh was in development at Koei Tecmo and was slated for release on PS3. Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive developer Team Ninja announced in 2010 that it had taken over development of the game, but had little in the way of details at the time.

Ni-Oh is expected, finally, sometime in 2016.
