Sony’s Tokyo Game Show press conference was full of new game announcements, including one from Atlus and Vanillaware. The pair’s next collaboration is called 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, and will launch on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
Atlus and Vanillaware reveal 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim for the PS4, PS Vita
Vanillaware is developing the title with Atlus set to publish. The companies also premiered a trailer showing off 13 Sentinels’ characters and impressionistic, 2D/3D hybrid art style typical of the developer’s work. From what’s shown in the video, the game appears to be a take on the mecha genre, featuring high school-aged protagonists.
The title was previously teased earlier this summer in a brief video announcing a “new project.“ With the promise of “more details coming in September” at the teaser’s conclusion, it’s safe to assume that 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is that mystery project.
A new high-definition version of the PlayStation 2 game Odin Sphere is the partnership’s next release. That game comes to the PlayStation 3, PS4 and PS Vita on Jan. 14 in Japan and later next year in the West.
