Polygon recently had a chance to play an underground battle between dwarfs and their greenskin enemies in a new build of Creative Assembly's Total War: Warhammer.
Unlike previous Total War games, Warhammer is set in a fantasy world, greatly increasing the variety of units available. These include giants, magicians and gyrocopters, all of which make substantial differences to how the realtime tactical game plays.
It's still about maneuver and counter-maneuver, but now there's a lot more to think about. This battle, set in a vast cavern, has the added complication of multiple tunnel entrances, which just adds to the tension. Total War: Warhammer is coming out in 2016 for Linux, Mac and Windows PC.
