What will Oculus show today?
It's day two of Oculus Connect, the company's now-annual show where developers meet with the company to see and play with the latest virtual reality hardware, and members of the press can check out the state of the art in virtual reality.
Oculus CEO Brendan Iribe will "share the latest news from Oculus, including updates on the Rift, Touch, and Samsung Gear VR" in the opening keynote, and directly afterward Oculus' Michael Abrash "will reveal for the first time some of the exciting projects underway in Oculus Research and how it’s laying the groundwork for the future of virtual reality." Then, after an hour break, John Carmack will speak, likely in dizzying length, about the challenges of mobile VR.
More details about the retail version of the Rift and launch games are likely, and it's all but assured that Gear VR will finally get its retail version confirmed and shown. We'll know more when the stream begins at 10 a.m. PT.
