"It's dangerous to go alone, so take three!"

Those were the first words spoken to us at a recent demo for Tri Force Heroes, the upcoming co-op The Legend of Zelda game for Nintendo 3DS. Like a cute play on the older games (and a phrase from the very first Legend of Zelda), Tri Force Heroes works perfectly with three players (one for each section of the Triforce) running through dungeons, solving environmental puzzles and smacking enemies.

There's plenty of the older games' DNA in Tri Force Heroes — familiar items, weapons and enemies make their appearances — but the new game also focuses on fashion, with different outfits affording buffs and powers to the wearer.

For example, the Tingle Tights allow the wearer three "free" falls on account of Tingle's signature balloons. There's a parka that allows the player sure footing over ice. And the Kokiri clothes allow you to shoot three arrows with the bow, instead of one.

Tri Force Heroes also allows you to craft new gear and upgrade outfits as you go along.

Check out our gameplay video for about thirty minutes of our adventures, including mishaps in a moblin-infested jungle, near-misses on runaway mine carts and one very pissed off ice snake. Tri Force Heroes launches this October.
