GameStop is offering a special deal for Destiny: The Taken King that's geared toward people who gave up on Destiny without playing either of its two expansions.
The Taken King's Legendary Edition — which includes the base Destiny game as well as its existing expansions, December's The Dark Below and May's House of Wolves — costs $59.99, while The Taken King on its own goes for $39.99. The Legendary Edition is a good option for people who have never tried Destiny, since the original game launched at $59.99 a year ago and its first two expansions cost $19.99 each or $34.99 bundled together.
GameStop is offering a $20 credit toward the purchase of the Legendary Edition to customers who trade in a copy of Destiny. That cuts the price of the Legendary Edition to $39.99, which means that trade-in customers can get the game and all three of its expansions for the price of The Taken King alone.
The deal is valid from Sept. 12 through Sept. 21. Since The Taken King launches Sept. 15, interested parties can take advantage of GameStop's offer during its first three days to pre-order the expansion and receive two pre-order bonuses: the Suros Arsenal Pack and the Weapons Pack.
