Pikmin 4 is ‘very close to completion,’ according to Miyamoto

Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto made a rather surprising announcement to Eurogamer during an interview in July, saying that a new game in the Pikmin franchise is on the way.

“It’s actually very close to completion,” Miyamoto told Eurogamer. “Pikmin teams are always working on the next one.”

Nintendo confirmed in a later statement that the game was in development, but declined to give any more details. The last Pikmin game was released in August of 2013 for the Wii U.
