Star Wars Battlefront's newly confirmed multiplayer mode, Drop Zone, takes classic king of the hill gameplay and gives it a little Star Wars twist. As the Rebel Alliance or the Empire, players will have to defend familiar-looking pods that drop from the sky in 16-player battles.
In an update posted to Star Wars Battlefront's official website, developer DICE explains how Drop Zone works. Players will need to hold the locations of drop pods after they fall from the sky; the first team to capture five of those pods or the team who holds the majority of the drop pods after 10 minutes will emerge the victor.
DICE says Drop Zone is "all about action and quick thinking."
"We're promoting the idea of a fast, action-packed game where you need to be mobile and think on your feet," said lead level designer Dennis Brännvall. "Camping doesn't really pay off."
Drop Zone joins a handful of other modes, including Supremacy, Blast, Survival and Fighter Squadron, in Star Wars Battlefront. The multiplayer shooter is coming to PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One on Nov. 17.
