Crossy Road coming to Apple TV with co-op multiplayer

Hipster Whale's massive mobile hit Crossy Road, the endless hopper that first hit iOS in 2014, is coming to Apple TV, the developer announced at Apple's press briefing today. The Apple TV port of Crossy Road will feature a new twist: multiplayer.

Andy Sum of Hipster Whale demoed Crossy Road multiplayer on-stage, showing how two players — in this case, as a chicken and a mallard — can play cooperatively and competitively. Players will be able to block and smack the other player in the Apple TV version, causing some cruel deaths by train and traffic.

Crossy Road is currently available for Android and iOS, and has been downloaded more than 40 million times, Sum said. The Apple TV version of Crossy Road will be available at the device's launch.
