There are 67 superheroes, villains and S.H.I.E.L.D. agents being considered for Avengers: Infinity War.
Directors Joe and Anthony Russo told a crowd of fans at Wizard World New Orleans that they were considering 67 characters for the climactic finale to Marvel's first round of superhero madness.
"We're breaking ground on Avengers: Infinity War," Joe Russo said, as reported by Comic Book Movie. "We have a board with 67 characters on it. You'll have to forgive him."
The Russos wouldn't say just who was going to make an appearance alongside the standard Avengers heroes. Doing some quick math, however, there's no way that there's been 67 characters appear on film over the past decade. Whether that means the Russos will use Infinity War to introduce the next stage of Marvel superheroes is up for debate, but it seems far more likely than it did before.
The Russos have previously said Infinity War will be the giant wrap-up to Marvel's first decade of films, spanning all three phases.
The first Infinity War is set to be released on May 4, 2018, with the second part scheduled to open one year later on May 3, 2019.
