DC Universe Online coming to Xbox One

The first Microsoft release for this former Sony company

DC Universe Online, the free-to-play massively multiplayer game, will launch on Xbox One this spring, developer Daybreak Game Company announced.

The news was first broken during the Colin & Greg show's livestream, featuring members of the development team. The studio then confirmed the news on both its Twitter account and that of the game's.

A port of the popular MMO to Microsoft's console was first teased early last year, when a Daybreak team member tweeted at fans about their interest in a Microsoft port of the game.

DC Universe Online is currently available on both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, as well as Windows PC. The game first launched in 2011, and Daybreak is currently celebrating its five-year anniversary. This will be the studio's first release to make it onto a non-Windows or Sony platform following its rebranding from Sony Online Entertainment in February 2015.
