The Puppy Bowl will be available to stream in VR this year

Everyone knows the most important part of Super Bowl weekend is the Puppy Bowl that happens hours before the big game.

This year, Animal Planet is offering viewers the ability to stream the entire event through the VR headset of their choosing. The adorable match will be available to stream through a couple of different avenues, including YouTube, Animal Planet's website, the Samsung Milk app, and Discovery's mobile apps, according to a press release. Parts of the event will be offered in full 360-degree video.

For those that aren't aware of what the Puppy Bowl is, essentially Animal Planet uses puppies from 44 different shelters across the country and lets them roam around a stadium for a few hours. The event, which draws in pretty decent numbers, is used to raise awareness for shelters and hopefully increase the amount of pets adopted.

This year, the Puppy Bowl will air at on Feb. 7 at 3 p.m. ET, with a half-hour pre-show airing right before it at 2:30 p.m.
