Report: OpTic esports team has a book deal

ESPN says they also got a hefty cash advance as well

OpTic Gaming, the team best known for their dominance in the Call of Duty Major League Gaming Champions, has signed a book deal with Harper Collins, ESPN's Darren Rovell reports.

Pre-orders for the book, to be authored by the team members themselves, have already begun, and the Harper Collins site already has a description available there.

"Emerging on the scene in 2006," Harper Collins states, "OpTic Gaming has dominated the Call of Duty e-sports arena, thanks to the talents of legendary players such as Matt 'NaDeSHoT' Haag, the biggest esports personality on earth; Seth 'Scump' Abnerl, the best Call of Duty player in the world; Midnite, one of the first girl gamers to rise to stardom on YouTube; and Hector 'H3CZ' Rodriguez, the team founder and CEO. With over one million subscribers and 71 million YouTube views, no other team of players in MLG can match OpTic's popularity or ability to bring fans into the game."

Rovell's tweet mentions that the first-of-its-kind book has already netted the team a six-figure advance. We've reached out to Harper Collins and OpTic for more information.
