Night School Studios' Oxenfree won't be out on Mac, Windows PC and Xbox One until tomorrow, but it's already got a special edition release in the works.
Coinciding with its Jan. 15 launch date, a collector's edition of the supernatural adventure game produced in collaboration with Iam8bit will be available for pre-order starting at 9 a.m. PT tomorrow, the companies announced in a press release.
The $55 set will ship in February, and will include a branded cooler; a "stash can" made out of an actual soda or beer can; a can insulator; a poster of the game's map; a mock ferry ticket to its setting, Edwards Island; and a cassette of the band Redheaded Bedwetters, which is featured in the game.
After placing your pre-order, you'll immediately receive a download code for the game on your choice of platform and a digital copy of the included demo cassette.
Night School also confirmed plans to bring Oxenfree to platforms beyond the three initially announced. The studio revealed on Twitter that a PlayStation 4 port is in the works. Oxenfree is launching on Xbox One and Windows first as part of a timed exclusivity deal, the developer shared.
Night School also announced plans this week to expand Oxenfree into a larger media franchise. The studio is partnering with Skybound Entertainment to develop a docuseries and film based on the property.
It will also host an all-day livestream of the game tomorrow on YouTube starting at 11 a.m. PT in celebration of its release.
